I have a i5-2500k, and geforce 460, yet I have problem with rendering people at range in large groups. The event for example was just a bunch of invisible people fighting at range. Any way to fix this? I know my rig isn't the highest end possible, but having 90% of the people invisible is just stupid.

did you increase your settings in game? you can alter the viewing distances. how was your FPS?
I have a i5-2400 Intel Core, EVGA GTX 560 Ti, and 4GB of ram. I get 60 FPS most of the time but when I fight multiple mobs, my FPS drops. Which is confusing since I have a good enough computer to run this game. I can lower the settings but the FPS issues still remain.

Updated all my drivers and troubleshooted everything.

I talked to a GM and he said that it had to do with compatibility issues regarding some of the mid-high range GPUs. Is this a problem that can be fixed via new drivers? I hope Nvidia makes something.

Disabling vertical sync will help your FPS.

Besides that, what do you consider "bad" FPS? Is it spiking downward, and from what to what? There are some known hardware compatibility issues being worked out, but this may or may not apply to you.

anything below 55 fps is bad. i can see it getting choppy.

btw how do i disable vsync in the game? there is no such thing. I have to do via nvidia control panel.
I have a ps2 controller and for some reason whenever I move the analogs to control the camera around (left analog stick), the camera moves erratically! When I try to look up, it moves down! When I look left, it looks right! what is going on? Please help!
Specs:
i5-2400 Intel CPU
EVGA GTX 560 Ti
1080p monitor
8 gigs of ram
Asrock H61M Motherboard

For some reason no matter if I turn down my settings to the lowest or highest, I get FPS drops when I fight multiple mobs. I thought I had a good enough computer to run this game but it seems like I need to upgrade more parts.

I have updated ALL drivers.

Question:
1. Is there a way to increase FPS by tweaking some settings?
2. Is the game still being optimized?
3. Should I turn off some intel bios settings?

Thank you!

I have Vsync force on and triple buffer on via Nvidia Control Panel.
go hide in the pve server then. noob.

@dread

this is wrong. gear and level is important, but once you are identical in level and close in gear, you can win with skill and teamwork. so stfu and gtfo. nub.

These kinds of servers always die out.

Huge initial community. All who have the idea of being able to kill people and take thier stuff. Till some realize its other people killing them and taking their stuff more so. So they quit. Guilds form. anyone who is guild-less cannot progress as they're constantly getting killed by zergs. they quit. At this point the only way the server increase in population is when people join already in fortified guilds. as any new player will be killed by anyone on sight. fortified guilds drive smaller guilds out. Eventually the server comes down to 3 or 4 super guilds. Join them or die. Guild drama occurs, players defect to other guilds. newly empowered super power guilds drive the smaller super power guilds out. super power guilds eventually dwindle down to 1. The server is now theirs. They have successfully beaten the game and killed the server.

yeah and then server wipe and fresh start. yayaya

I think what is lost on most people is this.

Taking an existing game made for pve with some pvp and changing the rules to a hardcore pvp ruleset in an already niche game is a pretty bad business idea. I am all for a real pvp ruleset but Tera as it is would be just a disaster the game is not built for those rules. MMOers are lazy if you make a crappy bolt on hardcore rule set people will just find a way to avoid it. Since most bolt on ideas here basically do not account for anything but that person's bias of what they want. Their scope is just too limited to be a working idea and deal with everything the rules would affect.

Building a hardcore pvp open world pvp game from the ground up is what would need to happen. Imo to have full loot, real good open world objectives etc the game would need to be made with that in mind. Almost all of the sucessful hardcore style pvp games had those attributes from creation.

dude tera is based on pvp. it just has wicked good pve cuz the combat system that was made for pvp is also great. u probably werent there in ktera beta.

Having to participate in any sort of grind for pvp gear is a stupid feature and only demonstrates a game's lack of a decent pvp system. All gear should be craftable on pvp servers with the resources obtainable out in the open world through gathering, killing mobs/players, etc.

why doesnt enmasse do this? [filtered] man

This issue has been discussed in many other threads, but the topics were usually destroyed when people started arguing about the OPness of Sorcerer and Archer. So, in this thread, I'd like to suggest that we do not focus on a specific class, but limit our posts to only Lock-on features and Invulnerability on backstep so as to provide a more focused discussion of the issue.

Disclaimer: I am not against lock-on heals, just lock on dps and CC skills. In addition, the lock-on skills I refer to are not just limited to Sorcerer damage and CC skills, but also that of Archer's and Mystics.

Many people consider Tera a skill-based game, which in my standards indicate that most PvP situations in this game can be overcome by the achievement of great skill in the use of our own characters. However, this is not the case. Archers and Priests cannot avoid lock-on skills which would sometimes mean definite defeat, while other classes have skills to avoid them(dodge, block and teleport Jaunt)

Another feature of this skill-based game that EME has invested great effort to advertise is the action combat: a player has to aim to hit. Tera's abandonment of traditional tab-click combat styles is what brought me to this game, and what I am using to attract my friends to play with me. Then I noticed that some skills have lock-on features that requires no aim whatsoever to hit.

Based on the observations presented above, I believe the introduction of lock-on skills has destroyed the action combat of this game by eliminating the need to aim to hit and presenting advantages to one class that another class cannot overcome by skill. Therefore I suggest adding invulnerability to Archer and Priest's backstep, or eliminating the lock-on FEATURES(not the skill as a whole, just making the skills aim-to-hit) of the dps and CC skills existing in this game.

i love you. this is exactly why i play tera. no other reason. dont fuk it up enmasse.
