I ran SM with a lvl 60 healer in the group the other day. We got zero xp, zero gold and no gold drop from final boss.... But, ran the same with same lvl group and got no gold drop from last boss... So, the drop rate is random anyway.

I believe I was in that first run with you, and yea -- a few coppers, some blue gear, maybe one or two green pieces, but that was about it. No gold drop at all.
Big-[filtered] (aka butt) Monster -- the Tera term for the bosses you find around the world and in instances.

Is there a setting somewhere that can be changed so the game automatically skips all the opening splash screens & movies? Escaping through them every time gets a bit annoying. I didn't see anything that controls that in the options menu, so I'm guessing if such does exist, it would involve direct editing of an .ini file or something of the sort.

Or am I just overlooking something that's obvious.
The mouse in this game only controls the camera; doesn't affect movement except that running forward is in the direction the camera is pointing.

Archers do not get pets. Mystics are the only class that gets a combat pet.

Most if not all of the dps classes get an AOE of some type, though not initially. You can find a lot of info about the different classes and their abilities in the game guide on this website.

The game starts you off with a short (about 1 hour) prologue, where you get a taste for what your combat abilities will be like as you progress. Once you finish the prologue, the real game starts, and there you start at level 1 and level up normally.

The "watch the mob and know when to dodge" is part of the unique combat system Tera has. It's not a "hit 1-2-3/faceroll" type of system -- you have to pay attention to what's happening, and be ready to move, dodge, or use one of your escape skills to get out of the way.

Class roles are very strictly defined in this game -- a priest heals, a lancer tanks, bersekers and slayers melee dps, warriors melee dps and off-tank, and the rest of the classes are some type of ranged dps.

There are no factions in Tera -- all players are on the same side, and are the good folks. The bad folks are the NPC monsters.

Hope this helps, And again I'll suggest reading the game guide here -- it gives pretty much all the background you need to know to play the game.
I've noticed that too -- the mini-map will usually show the quest receiver, but not the quest giver. It might be an oversight, or there might be an option somewhere to turn on quest givers.
No; once you get through the prologue, you level normally as you play, and you retain your level after deaths and when you log off.
Thanks -- Chrome has the same issue as Firefox, at least with AdBlock.

Another alternative is to use the IE Tab addon (available for both Firefox and Chrome), which loads the page in IE while staying in your browser. IE Tab solves a lot of problems with websites that don't play nice with Firefox or Chrome.
