Thank you for cheap taxes :D

I want to thank you guys too.
I wished my daughter and I voted for Girl.
I fell for all the forum posts and LFG chats dishonest opinions of you guys, and picked other vanarchs instead.

Once again, thank you for being the first guild to set such a low tax rate and being the first one to open a specialty store.
I went to Cutthroat as first, and they just have trainers and also DOUBLE the tax rate...Unbelievable.

Your tax rate helps created this low tax rate that all of us are currently enjoying on the server.
Next time, I will vote for you if you guys can keep this up.

PS:
I am a lvl 60 Lancer, and my daughter is only lvl 40.
I was wondering if my daughter and I could apply?
And if we can, where do we apply at?

Clis,

Thank you for your reply. On behalf of Something Terable, I'd like to thank you for your kind words and support. Honestly, it's our pleasure to serve the community, and we feel privileged to have the opportunity to offer the lowest possible tax rate of 1% throughout Arcadia. This is what the community overwhelmingly desires, and thus it is incumbent upon us to deliver.

We'd love to have you apply to our guild! There is a specific request from some of our members to seek out an additional level 60 lancer for the guild, so that would certainly be a bonus for us! However, we're rather more concerned with recruiting like-minded individuals to have fun with us and be a part of our guild -- regardless of level or class.

Please do apply to Something Terable in-game, and then send a message to our GM, Girl! We'd love to get to know you and tell you more about the guild, so that you can decide if Something Terable is the right place for you!

Of course, your daughter is more than welcome to apply with you as well, regardless of her level! It's very important to us that our members are able to play TERA and have fun with their friends and families, so we always eager to find spots for people who have a situation such as yours.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask, and thank you again for your support!

Agreed. No one in the Enclave thread has called anyone out by name except me. And that's only because the pro-zerg people demanded it and I don't belong to anyone so I don't give a crap what they think of me.

Dead2Rites,

I'm sorry if there has been any misinformation or confusion, but we are strictly NOT a zerg guild by any of the definitions that have been thrown around on these boards recently. You'll see in my initial post that we have quickly sought to dispel this notion, and if you ever have any questions at all, you can contact our GM, Girl, in-game.

We have a deeply rooted history in TERA, with guilds throughout both the NA and EU CBT's. Something Terable began on Serpentis Isle during NA CBT1, and the enthusiasm and curiosity of the Something Awful community led to us capping out at 300 members pretty quickly. There were also a number of non-SA members in the guild whom we met in-game, had a great time with, and admitted to the guild at their request.

We were one of the first guilds formed on Dragonfall during OBT (probably due to a combination of our enthusiasm and the initial login issues!), and we quickly neared the membership cap because we had such stunning retention from our time in CBT. Of course, membership in any guild is a constantly evolving beast, and as players end their time in TERA, it's possible to invite new members to a guild.

Given the (unfortunately) meager guild/officer controls in the game, we've decided to place all membership responsibilities with our GM, Girl. Girl is the only one who deals with membership matters, and there hasn't been a single instance brought to us in-game of any of our members spamming in-game chat nor these forums for recruitment -- it's simply not something that is done.

We don't have the room to spam recruit, and it goes against the very fundamental philosophy of our guild. Conversely, if any of our members meet someone in-game who is unguilded, and they think would be a good addition to our guild, we encourage them to bring it to Girl's attention so that we can add them to the guild, if they are interested in joining.

Again, we also consider anyone who applies in-game and also contacts Girl -- and we try to find applicants on the in-game list who we can get to know better and determine if they are a good fit. As I stated before, the in-game application list is bugged, and we can't see all of the apps, unfortunately, but we do our best to give consideration whenever possible.

And as far as SA threads go...my personal favorite was the "What tripped El Hadji Diouf?" thread, which was turned into a front page article on the main site. If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to check it out -- it's highly amusing.

(Also of note, it was recently featured in an exhibition at the Museum of the Moving Image, and The Verge did a pretty cool story on the exhibition.)

I also noticed the ad in their guild listing specifically recruiting for level 60s... I wasn't completely sure what this meant, but it gave me the impression that if I, a newer player in this game with only lower level characters, were to try to apply I would probably be denied or shunned.

I'm still not entirely sure of where I stand but the effort made in this thread defused a lot of my concerns. Still looming over my head though is the question, "who are you?"

Thanks for the reply. I'd be happy to answer your questions on behalf of Something Terable.

Who are we? Well, we're a guild, like any other. Quite simply, we're just a group of people playing a game together, with the sole hope of having fun. And so far, we feel like we're doing pretty well in pursing this goal.

We're specifically not some sort of insular community whatsoever. We have a *very* diverse community, and we welcome people from all walks of life. Our members hail from all around the world, and login at their own whim to pursue whatever goals they have in mind.

The undercurrent that buoys us and binds us together is a vibrant guild chat and sense of camaraderie that I personally feel is very rare in gaming these days.

As far as our recruitment polices go...

We rarely actively recruit (although we're always eager to meet new potential members). If you see a level/class message in the "Guilds on Server" list, it is meant only to fill holes at the specific requests of our members. It's not at all intended as a general recruitment message.

That said, we're always looking for like-minded individuals to join our ranks! If you apply to our guild and contact our GM, Girl, in-game, we're more than happy to consider you for membership, regardless of your level or class.

We receive many, many applications every day, and we try to review all of them, but the application list in-game is bugged, and we can only see up to 20 applications in the window. If your application is lost within that list, we're sincerely sorry. Your best bet is to contact Girl as soon as you apply so that we don't miss your app! Honestly, Girl is perhaps one of the most friendly and personable individuals whom you will ever meet in a game, so don't be shy to contact her, regardless of what's on your mind. :)

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask, and I'd be happy to address them.

Hi, we're Something Terable, and we probably haven't met. And that's our fault.

There's a lot of misinformation in-game about what we are and aren't, so we'd like to take the opportunity to let you know a bit about Something Terable. We keep a low profile in-game and on these forums because we're a low stress, low drama kind of guild. When it comes to both our guild and the rest of the community at large, our mantra is basically "have fun, and play the game how you want to play it." And we wouldn't have it any other way. On behalf of Something Terable and our GM, Girl, I'd like to take a moment to formally introduce our guild to the Dragonfall community.

Our guild originates from the Something Awful forums, a community of nearly 165,000 members, but our membership includes a wide variety of SA members as well as non-members, hailing from all across the globe.

Perhaps you've come across Something Awful guilds in other games, and your experiences playing with them are likely quite varied. Each one of our gaming guilds is unique, and Something Terable has nothing in common with any of these other guilds, aside from the fact that we all have a membership to the same internet community. Some of these guilds have reputations as "troll guilds" and/or actively seek to impact the gaming community in a less than positive manner, for their own gain. Something Terable is NOT this sort of guild. Sure, we have an off-beat sense of humor, but we're really just a guild like any other -- we're friendly and laid back, and we hope to have a positive impact on the Dragonfall community.

There has been a rumor going around that Something Terable is a "hardcore zerg guild" (what does that even mean???). Yes, we have some members who enjoy aggressively pursuing endgame content; that's how they want to play the game, and we're totally cool with that. But we're a very large guild, and we also have many more casual players, pursuing their own goals at their own speed -- whether it be crafting supremacy, logging in a couple times a week to blow off some stress in a dungeon, or being the source of delicious comedy in guild chat while they hopelessly battle the enchanting RNG boss.

Our only rule for the guild is to simply have fun, and that's a big reason why we have the largest population and the most praises on the server. We delight in having a healthy mix of player types and personalities, and we're always keen to make new friends and enrich the Dragonfall community in any way that we can. Our praises are evidence of the positive experience that many of you have had with our guild, and we're excited that we can soon trade these praises for policy points, to offer more Vanarch-related benefits to the community than any other guild on the server.

If you ever have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to contact our GM, Girl, and she'll be quite excited to meet, greet and talk about whatever is on your mind. Seriously, don't hesitate, she's more than happy to let one of her group members die in a dungeon for the sake of good conversation! :P

And if you're looking for a guild, give us a shout -- we're always working to enrich our ranks with like-minded individuals who are looking to have a good time in TERA.

Of course, we'd be delighted to have you vote for Girl for Vanarch during the current election. She's uniquely positioned to do some pretty awesome things for the server, and we can't wait to bring these plans to fruition if she wins Ostgarath. But even if you don't vote for her, we're still on your side, and we'd love to get to know each and every one of you on Dragonfall.

Have fun, and don't believe the hype -- get to know us for yourselves.

Something Terable and Girl work tirelessly, brothers and sisters in arms, marching always toward victory -- for you.

Girl offers you the same benefits that other candidates are promising -- trainers, specialty vendors, minimum taxation -- but with a key difference: She can actually give you these things. You see, daily upkeep on these accouterments is very expensive, requiring a steady flow of policy points, lest they be closed down. Something Terable is far and away the most "praised" guild on the server, and these praises can be traded for policy points. Combined with our vast membership and multiple guilds, Dear Leader Girl commands greater policy point power than anyone else in the land. She will give you everything that you deserve.

If Girl is elected Vanarch of Ostgarath, she will make a grand gesture toward the persecuted Elin of Arborea, and race change to Elin. Elin are a part of us, and we are a part of you. No more shall you struggle -- we shall rise up together, for one, for all. For the common good.

Vote Girl for Vanarch of Arun. Together we shall persevere.

Eh, we'll take one more, why not?

Same rules apply. Hit up Girl in-game and fill out the apps.
You can randomly walk into sexy dungeons and knock things over with us, if you'd like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bus0ffhHx0
We are still looking to fill this position. Thanks to everyone who has responded, but we're still looking for the right fit. :)
Tbf, this is probably true, as we're the most sexually active guild on the server.
Something Terable are recruiting one (1) qualified endgame lancer for immediate integration into our endgame dungeon groups. If you're interested in being considered for this position, please contact our GM, Girl, and apply in-game and at our website, somethingterable.com.

We are currently the premier guild on the Dragonfall server, with a massive active membership and the most praises on the server. If you're looking to sign on with ST, this may be your only opportunity, as we do not publicly recruit, save for rare exceptions such as this.

If you're interested in taking advantage of this unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of our endgame progress, please contact us as soon as possible. We look forward to hearing from you!
