Currently, I am pressing the play button but the game does not launch the opening cutscene etc.

99% sure its the new system. 3k gold is like 1/10 of a mob drop at higher level.
About the 3,000 gold. Is that using the old or new currency system? Will I need 3,000 gold coins to even run for vanarch?

did you preorder the game or buy it? preordering would have given you the ability to play headstart without a code, im assuming you only got into the open beta which probably only makes your account a trial. in that case i would think that the "trial" account thing is fine, and the buddy code worked for the weekend.
