RNG bags are a way to soak a customer base for as much money as possible. From a customer standpoint, there are no positives, because even those rare folks who luck into getting exactly what they want the first time will sooner or later (usually sooner) discover why the house always wins.
There is no way to change them to "better reflect a fair purchase," because doing so would require entirely removing the random element.
This newest excursion into RNG bag garbage is especially bad for four reasons:
1) It's an RNG bag
2) It's an RNG bag with three separate items making up the whole
3) The price is increased, and will set the new tone.
4) There's no way to simply buy the item
Here's a bonus reason: THEY'RE DOING ALL THESE THINGS WITH ITEMS FEW HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR. Can you imagine what it's going to be like when maid Lolipocalypse rolls around next month?
There is nothing here of benefit for TERA players. All business looks for profit, and it's no sin to do so, but not all business operates on a policy of blatant cash grabs. The only lesson EME learned with the gym bag debacle was to be more diligent about pretending the "bonus" [filtered] no one dares the RNG gauntlet for was the reason the bags exist.
No one buys RNG boxes for an instance reset, or a semi-enigmatic scroll, or two extensive alks... but you can be damn sure EME will always list those items first, so they can publicly pretend folks dropping 500$ dollars on a half-[filtered] digital lottery are getting value for their dollar.
