I'm a tank and have done nexus, never have any troubles at all. Top notch comp as this is my first mmo and I get 20+ fps always so yeah it's your comp not the servers.
You are foolish, You get much better framerates when the Nexus isnt going on right? 20fps cant be the max of your "top notch comp" Therefore the nexus causes lag
I know all about turning down graphical settings when the need arises.
I have a decent computer phenom IIx4 @ 3.2 Ghz/6770
I lowered all the settings during the nexus event. I did not notice a difference. it was practically unplayable either way.
I dont get the defense force here, I would be ok if during the Nexus with a few hundred people I got 20fps. But I like most people get 1 or 2 fps.
The lag is server side, its because too many people are in the same area at the same time and the servers cant handle it. Thats why it even lags for people not participating in the event, in completely different zones.
Fairly new 60, did fok and tot a couple times, missed a couple nexus weekends.
yesterday was the first time I took part in the event.
How is it ok that it lags the server so badly that it looks like a power point presentation? [edited]
This comes with the MMO Territory, If you hate it that much, stop playing MMO's.
They need to maintain hardware/software to keep hundreds of thousands of people playing, Its not easy, Even wow still has trouble with maintenance being extended, and they've been doing it for 10 years.
So sorry but if you dont like it/cant handle it, Stop playing it.
1) I start on maintenance day
2) I decide to stay up and wait on the maintenance because the estimated time is only 2 hours.
3) Something goes terribly wrong! Maintenance is extended, I get frustrated and end up going to sleep pissed off....
this cycle has happened to countless games I have attempted to enjoy.

Aion
Everquest
Atlantica Online
Rift
Diablo 3 (debatably the worst launch in gaming history)
and countless others I cant think of off the top of my head right now.
My main issue is none of the games or companies associated give updates and if they do they Never give an ETA. Which leaves us wondering, are the servers going to be up in 20minues 45minutes? or several hours. So we linger here and attempt to log in every 30 minutes or so just to end up angry, frustrated and give up. If we had an ETA with the updates, even if it was just a ball park estimate. We could better make the call on whether to linger here for an extra hour or go ahead and do other things and come back to the game later on.
These are just my opinions/thoughts on the way things should be handled.
Also the Server Status page is broken, all the servers say UP when they are clearly DOWN.

The group was quickly disbanded so either he changed the loot to ffa or kicked everyone and took it for himself
