This news is god awful. Once again EME is screwing over the actual 'hardcore' MMO players, to please the bit*hy carebears. The worst part is that they are taking the opinions of the CBT players into consideration. A large number of these CBT players will not be playing the game when it hits live, and therefore their opinions shouldn't freakin matter. A decision this large should have been left until 2-3 months down the road after live. I am seriously p*ssed off about this.
I hope someone at EME is reading this. I will be keeping my pre-order, but after that first month I'm outta here. You have effectively destroyed my want to play this game, and you will not be getting my money.
I call bs on the 4-8k flaming barrage as well as the 15k fireblast.
Screenshots/video or it didn't happen. Must also include opponents gear because if someones naked or wearing weak stuff, they take a lot more damage. Very easy to fake high numbers in videos/screenshots in TERA.
I'm not trying to prove that I'm better than everyone, or I would have posted pix and vids. But I didn't and I don't care if you believe me. Not all of us vid cap everything we do, or inspect every person we kill in giant GvG's. The point is that the damage is fine and the long casts hit hard as f**k like they should.
Prices are 100% fine. The only items that can be considered "obnoxiously priced" are those sold by players or the expensive version of scrolls & powders used for enchanting.
Devs cannot and should not control players prices.
The enchanting system is made to be a sinkhole, so let it be.
Scrolls, bandages, etc.. are not expensive.
I had over 200k from pure leveling and NPC selling equipment by the close of CBT1.
CBT2 I was geared and had 800k on me come close.
The difference? I learned how to use to broker system.
As a 27 sorc with blue gear, I must disagree with you. Against another 27 with decent gear, the skill you are referring to, "Flaming Barrage", only does 1-1.5k. This is no where near "one shot level". In fact, the only person I've ever one shot this skill with was a level 19.
There is another skill that we have called Fireblast. It's an AoE that can do over 4k damage uncrit. However, even glyphed, it still takes 3-3.7 seconds to cast (4.4 without a glyph). And it shows a giant ring on the ground that you simply have to move away from.
Also, wrong. Me with green gear I would crit 27's for 4-8k with Flaming Barrage and 6-15k with Fireblast. And they don't always dodge out of the way of Fireblast, cause they silly.
Both Arcane Pulse and Fireblast have their purposes. In dungeons you should be using both in succession to cause massive damage while the other cools down. Even with 1 mob, the AOE attacks both can crit for 12k in SM @ level 27 w/ green weapon (been there done that). In solo PVE, Arcane Pulse is a great opener to a multi-mob scenario as it does not spilt damage. Also, if you actually learn the play styles of the mobs you will learn that (on some mobs/groups) you can actually cast both skills before the mobs are close to you and still have time to get away before damage is taken. You can 2 shot groups of mobs with minions if you get crits. This is way faster than any other alternative, even with the slow cast times.
For 1v1 PVP they should not be used (fully charged) unless you have the Glyph of Lingering on your Mindblast. Otherwise a sleep/root skill will wear off before casting is complete. Sleep/root will barely last long enough for Fireblast if you have the Glyph of Blaze on it. If you are in 1v1 PVP in close quarters, fire off a Arcane Pulse at them and then retreat. I find the crit rate on a non charged Arcane Pulse is higher than a normal attack. For any other PVP scenario's these skills should be used a LOT, and they will cause massive damage. They are easy to spot and easy to dodge, but when you have 3 people attacking you and your back is to the sorc it's really hard to see Arcane Pulse coming your way.
Everyone's PVP/PVE style is different, but both me and the other sorc in my guild were doing very well using both "stand still" skills during PVP. You must be a fool if you don't use them in PVE though.
The difference between green, blue, and orange is ridiculous; but on the flip side their is no pvp gear, and no incentive to PVP other than to rep a name.
Either way you swing this gear issue is bad news for everyone.
Are we playing the same game? Their is mos def PVP gear. There are also PVP stat boosts to weapon's atk bonus'. More importantly, there IS PVP gear. Not at level 27, but it still exists.
Also, I really cannot complain about the PVP.
We were a 9 man @ cap guild, we declared on NFA and SNFA just because we wanted some fun.
Our random dozen lower level players were in Vent with us and were having tons of fun killing players their own level while out hunting. When they got ganked, they switched channels and went on playing. When it became too much, they asked for help and we ran out there to protect them.
We enjoyed running around looking for 5v5's and any war tag really. We were out numbered almost every fight, and lost almost every big fight we were in. We LOVED it.
Now for the Outlaw system.
I feel that people do not fully understand what the outlaw system is meant for. It is meant for OWPVP whenever you want? Yes.
There is another purpose for it though. If your guildies are leveling and keep getting ganked by a single player or guild for no reason, you need to get out there and protect them. It turns out that its a person who you aren't at war with. Maybe you have too many wars ongoing atm, maybe you dont have the funds to start a war atm. You get to your guildie to protect them, and the ganker is there but not flagged. You best your [filtered] that I'm about to flag and kick his butt.
The outlaw system is going to be used for ganking and killing lowbies. That's the point of OWPVP. The system is also designed to allow us to police our own servers, and get rid of the trash. If we do not use the outlaw system to our advantage, then shame on us.
So I ask how fair it is to the "good" outlaws that they just saved the lives of a group of lowbies who keep getting ganked by a person 20+ levels on them, and now that "good" outlaw can't go back to leveling or questing or what have you because you placed tons of "outlaw restrictions" on him.
Please do not allow penalties on Outlaws, it really is ridiculous.
If you don't like the fact that you are losing wars to guilds who are killing you lowbies, do something about it! You are the higher up's in the guild, it's your job! Otherwise gtfo, seriously.
If you are afraid of low level ganking on your own toon's, deal with it till you can fight back or go play PVE server.
You either get OWPVP or you don't. Stop trying to make compromises.
you couldnt even find the loot on the broker.... because NOONE would see them drop
If you "inspected" the good players from good guilds, you would have seen that the loot was dropping, and no one was selling it. Not the other way around. When everyone in a single party from the same guild had +4 (or better) yellow's all around.....it was obvious what was happening.
Also, I was running SM in 30-40 mins with pugs. The cool down isn't an issue. A game isn't supposed to allow you to get exactly what you want immediately. Why would you still play?
Read that, it is the truth and it is why we all play.
Also, when public comes out we all won't be sitting around with nothing else to do but farm a level 26 dungeon for 2 days. We will all be farming the higher dungeons, sure. We can't really complain about those dungeons though, because we can't even play them yet.
I'm just waiting for the outcry during CBT3 when we have have no new dungeon to farm. Assuming level cap is 5 levels more, and the next dungeon isn't until level 35, and drop rates decrease in SM 25% once we hit level 31.
Instance cooldowns are fine!
+1
In addition, my UI settings should save from toon to toon. Resetting my UI and keymaps takes over 20 mins per toon....even when this goes public that is too annoying for me.
